It is to be hoped that the tickets for the 2012 Olympics do not follow the Canadian example for the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
The price for the Opening ceremony starts at $175 then straight up to $550 and upwards to $1100. A few of the preliminary rounds have ticket prices of $25 to $50 but these are generall for events where you could walk into the events openly or stand on the nearest hill or are fairly unpopular starting events. Finals tend to start at very high prices, the ski jumping final is $150 to $550, Ice Hockey from $350 to $775, even speed skating finals are $175 to $425. All of that before agency fees and getting to the event.
Prices like this would cause acute embarassment to the organizers and could hardly be called the peoples games.

Agreed sounds very pricey, I think it's a shame that London 2012 may have already sold off the crown jewels. 130k tickets to corporates? You cna bet your bottom dollar those tickets aren't for rowing or the marathon, most likely (more like 100%) for the opening and closing ceremonies. Peoples Games? I Think we have already been sold down the river
